Barbara Ann Durnford (nee Leach)

With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother on Sunday, October 20 at the age of 89. 

Predeceased by her husband Andrew Durnford (2019). Loving mom to Bill (Valerie) and Anne Burrows (Paul). She will be missed by her grandchildren Erin, Lisa (Hanna), Andrew (Frankie) and Paula (Cole) and her great-grandchildren Jaron, Luca, Theo and Lydia. Dear sister to James Leach (Pat) and sister-in-law to David Durnford (Barb) and Barb Crawford (predeceased by John). Predeceased by her brother-in-law Paul Durnford (Barb). Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Barb enjoyed time with family and friends over the years. She will be missed by all for her happy personality and love of great music. She was a proud graduate of Victoria Hospital Registered Nursing-South St (1957). She loved being a nurse and took pride in all her work in hospitals, long term care homes and the community. There will be no service as this was mom’s wish. Cremation has taken place. A special thank you to all the staff at Chelsey Park Long Term Care 4th floor. The care of mom was exceptional. Please consider a donation to a charity of your choice in Barb’s memory. She especially loved to support small libraries in rural communities.
