Ann Kingswell (nee Shaubel)
Peacefully, on December 21st/ 2024, ten days before her 75th birthday, Ann Kingswell (nee Shaubel) passed away at Mount Hope Long Term Care. Beloved Mother of Sean Kingswell and wife Kate, and son Brett Kingswell. She will be missed by her three grandsons Colton, Hunter and Tanner. Aunt to Kelly Latin and family and Paul Shaubel and family. Ann is predeceased by her parents Arthur and Hilda Shaubel, and her brother Richard Shaubel and wife Joan. She will be missed by her caretaker, companion and champion Jacky (Jaelina) Holthof. During good times and bad, Ann’s love for family was paramount and always voiced.
Ann was a lifelong lover of music, and a pianist in her younger years. She spent the first half of her adult life in the Town of Port Elgin. Working as a teacher, and as a member of the community, she had many fond memories of good times and great people who have impacted her life. In London she was able to enjoy what she called “city life” with shopping and restaurants her favourite outings. A homebody, she has always been an animal lover and enjoyed nothing more than an evening of snacks and time with her pets.
A special thanks to both Jaelina, as well as the staff at Mount Hope. The quality of care and family first approach was very much appreciated. Now at peace, her journey ended in a place full of support.
A celebration of Life will be held on January 12, from 1 to 3 pm
The Four Points Sheraton
Bentley Lounge
1150 Wellington Rd.
