Liu Qi Ling (Chi Ling)

Peacefully at  Mount  Hope Centre for Long Term Care on Saturday, August 10, 2024 in her 93rd year, Liu Chi Ling, loving mother of Elizabeth Richmond (Li Shu Min), dear wife of the late Li De Zhou, and the oldest and last surviving sister of the late En Ling, Rong Ling, Yi Ling, Zhao Ling, Du Ling, and Hu Ling. She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and friends from across the globe.

Chi Ling was sponsored to Canada by her daughter in 1998 and attained Canadian citizenship in 2006. After her husband’s death in 2004 she lived an independent and active life in Sarnia and later London for almost 20 years.  She went back to Shanghai in her eighties to care for an ailing sister. After returning to Canada she continued with annual visits alone to Shanghai until these were curtailed by the Covid pandemic.

She was a person well-liked by neighbours and fellow travellers.  She will be missed by the caring staff at Mount Hope, Marion Villa, Fourth Floor where she spent the final year of her life.

A private family interment is planned for Lakeview Cemetery, Sarnia.
