James Vincent Hopwood

(November 17, 1951 – June 2, 2024)

James ‘Vince’ Hopwood, passed away unexpectedly in his London, Ontario home on June 2, 2024 in his 73rd year.

He was born November 17, 1951 in London, Ontario, at St Joseph’s Hospital.

Predeceased by his beloved wife Doreen Mary Brown (2011).

Vince is predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Hopwood (nee Griffiths), born in 1921, and also his father, Victor Lewis Hopwood born in 1923, both born near Mold, Wales, UK.

Vince was the youngest of 3 siblings and is survived by his elder sister Susan Mary Mills (John), near Cleveland, Ohio, USA, along with 2 nieces, Michelle Chilcote (Mike), and Kellie (Young) Downey (Bill) and also great-nephew, Gavin and great-niece, Eleanor.

Predeceased by his elder brother John Geoffrey Hopwood (Patricia) (2015) of London, Ontario.

Also survived by step-daughter Leann (Hopwood) Walsh (Albert), 2 step-grandchildren, Lindsay and Albert JR. and also step-great grandson, Leeland.

Vince was a quiet, kind and caring soul, who would help anyone who needed it.

Vince worked hard in his many careers as a certified class ‘A’ mechanic and also worked with many of his friends in the bricklaying business.

He also had a passion for painting and had created many artwork pieces in his earlier years.

He will be dearly missed by all his family and friends. BOOM!
